I want to display text in 3D view, especially walkthroughs. I am building a subdivision and creating 3D walkthroughs for the model plans. I would like to indicate which items or components are options in the walkthrough. Would like to display "optional bay window" on or near the 3D representation of that feature. Any ideas?

You create a bit map image of the "sign" or verbiage, import that as a "Custom Material" (instructions on how to do that are in the Reference Manual) and then apply the custom material (sign) to a soffit or other object, set to "stretch to fit" and viola! There you have it!
If you require "3D Letters or symbols" then those would have to be made in Sketch Up and then imported into Pro (a little more involved as a process).

Thanks David. When you say "create a bit map image", I assume you mean create it in another graphics program. Correct?
Yes, I use Paint Shop Pro but even Microsoft Paint will work.Quote:

One more question. If I apply my custom material (bitmap text) to a transparent soffit or glass will the text appear to hang in the air or do I have to anchor it to something opaque in order for it to read? I know I should do all of this to see for myself but I am on a deadline and this display is last on the priority list. Thought you might already know.
