1 level house with basement

Hi there,

I watched a friend do a quick design of a house in a yard in the program (until I can get my program to work), and I was wondering... Can you design the house to have a 9 foot basement (with 5 feet being in ground and 4 feet above ground and the main level on top)?

Yes, as long as you have the 7.08 update this is very easy.

1. You have to create the 9 foot basement walls when you use the build foundation tool. The default is only 2' which gives you a standard crawl space.

2. You need to open up your terrain and turn off the auto calculate elevation feature and set your elevation to how you want it. This will allow you to move the house up and down relative to your terrain so that you can have as much or little of the house above the ground as you want. The ability to set the elevation height in the terrain was a feature that got added in one of the updates.
