Extend a Curved Staircase?

Trying to create a curved staircase in one of my designs, but can't seem to be able to extend it to reach the next floor or create a stairwell. Tried adding a straight staircase but end up with staircases all over the place. Help!

Also I wonder what the height of the floor above is in comparison to the current floor.

Thankyou, I tried again and it all worked out, curved staircase reaching next floor and stairwell created, don't know why it did not work first time!
