octagon-shaped wall cut-out with it's own roof overhang
I am trying to add an octagon-shaped wall cut-out around the dining room with it's own roof overhang that is lower than the general roof. I am having lots of trouble - feel like I've tried everything. The only way that I can get the rest of the roof to look right is by specifying high shed/gable wall but then the cut-out extends all the way to the general roof. See the attached image. It has an image of what I am trying to create (the right side of the house) along with what I have now in my current design. Any help would be appreciated.

Make the bay window its own room perhaps (invisible wall ?) with a roof over in the room DBX should work
EDIT: ok had to try it ,drew a 45 deg. bay on the side of the plan i was playing on and the roof auto generated just fine . I started with the square house then added the bay area ,so maybe it make a difference ? then used the wall break tool to cut out the wall into the bay area for the interior veiw. So maybe it is just a setting you have wrong I dont have the "room" labelled but dont know if that makes a diff. or not as i'm new to this.....Last edited by Kbird; 06-15-2009 at 08:13 PM.

Brandon,
See the image of a plan I did as an example in Deluxe 7 (I don't seem to have Suite for some reason).
