    Sure it can. The current design I am working on has the living room 24 inches higher than the garage. The living room is at zero and the garage floor is at -24.

    Take a look at the screen capture I have attached. It is for the garage. Note that the Stem Wall Top (A) is at -12 and the floor is 12 inches below that, which means it is 24 inches below the zero reference (conveniently, the living room default is at the zero reference). Note also, Floor to Stem Wall Top (F) is a positive number, as it is measured from the floor up. Not intuitive, I know, but it works once you understand it.

    This is from HD PRO 7. If you have a different product, you may have somewhat different dialog settings, but the principle should be the same.

    BTW, this is for a garage that is taller than the residential standard, so don't let the other dimensions throw you.

    Also, it is always a good idea to mention which product and version number you are using.
