Help! how to create a porch on a slab foundation

I am so lost as to how to create a porch on a slab foundation. Not only that, how to put a slab foundation underneath the house (is this something I should have done before constructing the house?).

Build> Floor> Build Foundation

You can base it off of your first floor, so you don't need to do that first.
