1-1/2 Story With 12 - 12 Pitch Roof

Does anyone know how to do a 1-1/2 story with a 12-12 pitch roof? When I goto the attic view only the gable end walls show. Also the overhang does not come straight out from the top of the walls. If you do a 3D view the top of the doors and windows is blocked by the 2' overhang.
