Importing Picture of Home - Landscape

I have home designer pro 8.0. I have followed the tutorial as to how to import a picture of my home so I can build lanscape around it. When I follow the steps given in the video "how to file" everthing works just fine. However, when I go to view it with the camera it it does not display. I have used MS Paint to block out everyhting except the house and have saved it as a BMP. I have also used Photoshop to do the same and have tried .BMP and .png files as mentioned but I am unable to get the picture to appear. I am sure that i am doing something wrong. Can anyone give me some insight for accomplishing this? thanks much
