Saving as .dwg and printing options
I'm a brand new user..WooHoo! anyways...
First, I need to save in a format that can be exported as an attachment to my architect so she can open it in AutoCad. She'd like a .dwg, but, it looks as if I can only save as .plan or saving as a .pdf which, in this case, isn't preferable.
Second, currently, I only have easy access to a homestyle printer. I'd like to save in a format that I can take the prints to an offsite printer that can print larger scale. but, since the printer loaded on this computer only handles up to 8-1/2 x 14 that's the only options I'm given.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,Beth

Only Chief Architect can export a .dwg file, but some of the lower-end programs can export a .dxf which is the generic version of the AutoCAD proprietary format.

Generally you would send a .pdf file to a printing service.

Keep in mind that even with a .pdf print driver which might allow you to choose a larger sized paper, that the Home Designer programs still have print size limits on how big you can print, even if its to an electronic pdf.
