closed - open gable ends?

Hi Folks,

I am attaching two jpg files. One is a picture of my current house showing a "closed gable" (I am sure that it not the correct term but it's all I have . . . The other jpg is an elevation view of the garage I am designing. How do I get the gable end to "close" like my house gable does? In other words, I want to run a "mini" roof above the garage doors. I hope that makes sense?!

I am using Home Designer 9.0

I don't know if HD9 supports this feature or not, but take a look at the Roof tab in the Wall Specification dialog for the wall with the gable end. You'll want to look for a checkbox for Auto Roof Return (see image below).

Thanks for the idea - At least I now know that it is called a roof return!

That worked well enough to be able to show the builder what I want. I appreciate your help! (The result is attached).
