vertical siding

I am unclear how to create vertical siding. I tried creating a new material by copying the siding I want to use, then renaming it to siding R90. However, nothing changes. What step am I leaving out?

Did you apply the new material to the wall in either the Wall Specification dialog, or the Wall Definition dialog?

Did you also specify the Rotate Angle for the siding material as 90 degrees in the Define Material dialog box?
