No idea how to add my lot/terrain to a finished house plan

Well, I have a tiny idea. But I have an odd-shaped lot and am wondering if someone can dumb-down an explanation of how to input info for me. Some of these answers I'm reading through are a little beyond me at this point. My husband has given me some info from his transit. But I don't know if it's better to use his handful of figures or try to get GPS info (and not even sure how to go about that) to map out the boundaries of the lot. The slope should be pretty easy to do since it falls slightly from one side to the other. I'm not even sure if I'm asking this correctly so if I'm not being clear, please say so. Thanks!

What version of the software are you using?

If you have a version 9 program, make sure that there is a dot in the appropriate column for your program in the training videos: http://video.homedesigner.chiefarchi...search=terrain
