Elevation Cross Section - switch basement off?

Ok, having now read the manual (!), can see that the cross section/elevation camera has to be dragged more than a snap distance but not so far as to cross a 3D object (eg wall), then it allows me to send to Layout as more than just an image, i.e. something I can set scale for.

Except...

...when I view it as a Technical Illustration (what I want), then of course I can't set the scale when I send it to Layout, oh no, that would be far too easy.

thanks, yes that's how I realised it wasn't sending it at the correct scale.

Not ideal but a practical workaround. Think I might go with that for now, these are plans for planning permission, not blueprints for scaling and building off. By zooming in I can get it pretty spot on anyway.

(Surprised that is necessary in Chief - I sometimes think of upgrading in the belief all my problems will disappear! I know that's an illusion but it's a nice dream)
