Elevation Cross Section - switch basement off?

Hi,

Trying to produce B&W line plans for permit submission but having trouble switching off the basement. If I back clip or clip from underneath using the slider I either lose some of the roof or some of the split level floor on one side of the building.

Sorry if that sounds complicated without an image, but simply, is there a way of switching off the basement level so I can send elevations to layout looking like a line diagram as seen from above ground? (which is what my local authority requires) I really don't want to have to mess around in Photoshop or InDesign every time I make a change.

Maybe a white CAD rectangle with no frame to simply hide it in 2D? Bad solution but less clunky than using other software.
