    You can create anywhere from 1 to 3 floors in all Home Designer versions. You can only have one foundation (or basement) floor below your first floor. You can also only have one attic floor above your third floor.

    To build a new floor, go to the Build menu and look for the Floor submenu. You can use the Build New Floor tool to build a floor above the current one you are working on. You can use the Build Foundation tool to build a foundation floor if you do not already have a foundation floor built.

    As a general rule, it is best to design your first floor first. You can then create your second floor using the outer walls of your first floor as a starting point. You can also build your foundation using your first floor walls as the starting point. After you have built a new floor, you can turn on the Reference Display to see where your other floors walls are. This will help you if you make changes to one floor and you want to keep walls on other floors aligned. More information about this can be found in the reference manual and training videos.
