    roof over porch

anyone know how to create this porch roof. I can't seem to keep the main house roof a full gable and the porch a shed roof.

    Shed Porch Roof

This worked for me: Give it a try.

    1. Delete your present built roof and make sure your "Auto Roof " function is disabled.
    2. Define the long-walls of the house as gable walls to create your High pitch roof.
    3. Draw your porch if not already on your plan.
    4. Break the house wall where the short sides of the porch begin and end.
    5. Click the "now cut/broken wall" to highlight it.
    6. Open your wall editor.
    7. Uncheck "Full Gable Wall" box for this section.

(NB: If you click on the remaining parts of the house wall i.e. the sections on either side of the "broken wall" you will see that they are still remain as "Full gable" walls. Do not change these - they must remain as such).

    8. Now open the two "short porch walls" and designate them as "Full Gable Walls".
    9. Make sure the long porch wall is unchecked, i.e. - no specification.
    10. Highlight just the "room area" of the porch - not the walls.
    11. Open Building Roof Function (Ctrl+R) ., go to Roof Styles tab and select the Shed roof style.
    12. Now clik on the Roof tab again and switch the Auto roof function on again.
    13. Click OK.

You should now have a single slanted shed roof over your porch whilst your house will remains a gable.
