    Roof Help!!

I am currently designing an "L" shaped, 1 story ranch and all was going well until I put on the roof. The long part of the ranch is running east-west and the small "bump" which will be an enrty way is running north south along the eastern side of the ranch. Attached to the bump is a 2 car garage. A porch is then attached to the eastern wall of the house. The roof program seems to not be able to handle the roof over the porch and I get two peaks running along the east-west direction.

Further, I end up with an extra roof on the ground along the attached garage's north and west sides. I have tried the break wall funtion as discussed in the tutorial and tried to trick it every which way but I can't get it to work.

Any help would be appreciated. I would be more than happy to email my house file for someone to take a look at it. I also attached a screen shot of the 2 peaks issue.Click image for larger version.

The wall over which you are getting a hip roof (the default roof type, unless you "tell" it otherwise), open its dialog box, go to the "Roof Tab" and "Tell" it (check "Gable Roof" and then I believe you will get what you seek.
