How do I put insulation under the basement slab? I'm using home designer pro14.

Well since you have Pro you can add layers to your floor structure. Edit> Default settings> Floor defaults> structure tab> floor structure button

I did a short video about what I think you are asking, and addressed what Lamina suggested and some additional data about cross sections and creating Construction Document views in Home Designer Pro:

Okay, well I guess this helps. I thought I could just add a layer of insulation to the basement floor slab, but you can't add a layer with pro. I've sort of accomplished this with the cad technique. thanks
