My plan has disappeared

I don't know what I did but my plan for a low-rise block of apartments has disappeared into the bowels of my computer. I will have to get a computer pro to do a search for it with probably some special software and just hope that he can recover it as the plan was almost finished.

While I know the name of the file/folder I am not to sure as to what file type/format Home Designer uses to save things (e.g. *.dbx etc) and would appreciate it if someone could point me down the right path as I am sure my computer man will ask me that question and I don't want to look like a bigger idiot than I feel right now.
