lifting the house off the ground
How do I elevate my house plans off the ground 6 feet? It would be the same effect as a beach house, but its not a beach house. The house would be supported on brick or block columns. (a replica of an old farm house is what we're doing) and you can literally walk under the house. So it's open underneath.

Thought I'd give it a try. Not exactly brick columns, but you can't have everything in a quick and dirty.
Building Pad Elevation 96
Skirt Thickness 0
Foundation Wall Height 0
Piers Checked, 96" Deep
3D Terrain Perimeter Off
May not be the proper way to do it.Call me Root

I failed to mention that I have the basic software, you're using terms I haven't seen. Thanks again.

How basic? Exactly which version do you have?
You may not be able to change all the settings that I listed. I just took a quick fling at it with what I have. What you want to do may not even be fully doable with anything short of Chief Architect. All versions of Home Designer have some limitations. The less expensive the version, the less likely it is to be able to do something out of the ordinary. A stilt farm house on brick columns is pretty unusual.Last edited by RootFarm; 01-04-2007 at 04:01 PM.
