How do I place gutters & drain spouts accurately on a drawing?

I see you have Landscaping and Deck Designer 8

I'm not familiar with that version so this may not
help you:

Gutters should generate automatically with the roof.
If not check in the Build Roof dialog - options tab.
There may be a check box there for gutters.

As for drainspouts, they're library objects that need
to be inserted manually.

LDD 8 has no Library Browser downspout symbols (LDD 9 comes with one); like Doug said gutters are automatic and downspouts are manually placed when available.

LDD 8 and 9 are not equipped with the native ability to import custom symbols.

You can use the Geometric shape "calendars" to emulate downspouts to a degree.

Kat, I cannot find any reference to Gutters and downspouts anywhere in Pro. The only reference is in the Default edits where you can delete the auto gutters that show up when you build a roof. Any ideas? thanks, bill.

Since Architectural 10 has downspouts, I would be surprised if Pro 2012 didn't.

Try searching your Library Browser in case their location may be different in your version.

If the symbols in the Library aren't quite what you're looking for, see if you can find something in the 3D Warehouse or create it using SketchUp and import it.

Or use David's earlier suggestion and build your own using geometric shapes (although I think he meant "cylinders" not "calendars").
