Need help with adding a roof feature (Dormer?)

Ok, I'm just a novice, but I have been using Home Designer for some time now. I'm attempting to draw my daughters new house. It has a front porch that has a roof feature about the door (See picture below)

How do I get that roof feature added in. I tried a dormer and had no luck at all. I have tried several other things all of which to no avail.

To get started you enclose the "Porch" with walls (without a space enclosed with walls, invisible or visible, you cannot control the space or program its attributes) either visible or invisible, then you open the "Room Specification Dialog" for the space and raise the ceiling height.
When you then build roofs the "porch" will have a higher ceiling and roof system of its own as a result.

Generally speaking "Room Specification Dialogs - Structure Tab - Ceiling Height" settings control the plate height of roof systems that build over such spaces, further programming changes can be made by way of the "Wall Specification Dialog - Roof Tab" in certain cases but not necessary for what you want to do (just ceiling height higher in your case).

I have the roof feature in, but now I have a problem with material

I added a wall to the porch and then turned it into a arched doorway. Raised the ceiling height and then rebuilt the roof. I finally got the porch structure correct but now I have a problem with underlying materials bleeding thru. See attached JPG.

As you can see I now have block wall and wood showing thru. I have tried the material painter and that didn't work. I tried changing the wall material to all stucco and that didn't work. I even tried making a flat sofit to cover the spots, but that didn't work either. As a matter of fact, moving the sofit forward a foot still resulted in the block showing thru.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I am guessing based upon the posted image but it appears that the adjoining roof plane edges are intruding a little into the outer layers of the block walls (roof planes are programmed to cut off the layers of walls over which they reside so if a roof edge is over the outer layer of a wall, it will cut-off that portion of the wall and expose the inner layer (block in this case) so manually move the offending roof plane edges back from the outer layers of those walls to allow them to reveal properly.
It may be some other cause but that is what I would check for first.
