Angry My plan has disappeared whilst working on a house design

Have a peculiar problem?!!. A plan that I was working on suddenly "disappeared" when I clicked on the "centre plan button"! The grid and plan outline just vanished. BUT - if I build the plan in 3D it builds perfectly and shows everything drawn so far! Have requested technical help but have't had a reply so far. I must have clicked on something I shouldn't have, or "unconsciously" changed one of my settings.

Anyone in the forum ever done this? Help. Have also re-installed my program twice but still cannot find the plan when I come out of the 3D mode. Have scrolled from side to side and up and down - it just isn't there!! Help - have a deadline on this dwelling. Other plans show perfectly but not this one!

You don't state what soft ware title you are using, however in the ones I have I don't recall a "center plan button" although that doesn't mean there isn't one.
Have you tried using the edit>undo button? I would try that first.

If you hadn't made a large number of changes to the plan, you might try making a copy and saving it in a new plan file for the "just-in-case" goof happens, then close the current plan that you say disappeared, and when the software asked if you wish to save changes click no. Then when you re-open-it should go back to the original.

    See if this helps.

Thanks BB Boy for trying to help. Apologies! I am using HD 2014 Pro. The button I refer to is called "Fill window building only". This normally causes only the drawn plan to fill the screen completely in one button click. ile the 2nd button to the left of the Pan window button (the hand). I am a little frantic as the plan was almost complete apart from drawing the flat roof, but I need the "drawn plan" to do this. Have been trying to work placing windows and cladding etc on the 3D built plan. Not that effective but better than nothing if one has a deadline, but now I need the plan for the roof planes. I am going to try your suggestion and re-save my plan.

The "Center Sheet" button is for printing directly from the plan view (the command is found under the "File - Print" drop-down menu), that command centers the plan view on screen, centering it for printing along with the scale you set the drawing sheet to.

If, as you say, you can still see your structure in camera views then all is well, just hit the "F6" key on your keyboard and that will (should) bring your plan view back into view.

If it does not, then you probably have a tiny segment of wall or perhaps a soffit that was accidentally placed long-distance from your house model so when you hit the "Center Sheet" button or "F6" that command "includes" your errant object in the screen along with your house and so the house then seems to disappear.
This is a common problem for newer users unfamiliar with how the software can work.

Thnks to all but Nope! None of the suggestions have worked. Still cannot find my plan - only the 3d image. Managed to find the "grid" that I could minimize or maximize but no plan and have scrolled completely left to right and top to bottom. Have sent the problem to HD technical support. They may be able to help me find my plan otherwise I just have to start again. Burn the midnight oil!!!

Did you try the "zoom" out a little at a time to see if any objects appear?

Did that too! Have discovered the problem seems to happen when I use the grey dimension figures (i.e. those between the grey external dimension arrows) but I still cannot find my plan. Restarted a plan and the same happened when I got to a certain wall. Have sent the new plan to Technical support. Beginning to think there may be a problem in my software. Have always used these dimensioned figures to change wall lengths etc. and have never before had a problem. It has always worked for me in the past. Will be interesting to see what they say. Thank goodness for the technical experts!!

This problem is now solved. Not a program defect just a human defect. After much investigation and help from technical support, noticed that I had in advertently switched off the "angle snap button". I switched it on again and the plan stayed where it should have. Thanks to all who tried to help. You're great.
