Are the files prodced by Homedesigner CAD files ?

I am designing my own home. I want to purchase Home Designer but I am not sure if files that I produce will be usable by an architect . Are they CAD files that I can provide to an architect so he could work directly with them ? Thank you.

If your intended Architect uses AutoCAD or a CAD program that can import and use ".dxf" files that yes Home Designer Pro or Architectural or Suite can export 2D files in .dxf format that can be widely imported into other 2D CAD programs.

AutoCAD is not a natively 3D program like Chief Architect Inc (Home Designer) titles so the file exchange is in 2D since most other CAD programs are not 3D.
