Photoshop (raster) like AutoCAD (vector) are natively 2D, the difference between defining visuals by way of pixels (raster) and vector (lines and colors) is mainly in the language used to communicate that data and how that data is then "read" by machinery and translated into visuals. Raster gives the illusion of how the Human eye "sees" or displays imagery. Vector method displays images with sharp clarity that accentuates the communication of objects clearly for construction purposes-portrayals. Each has their own purpose and attributes.
