    Hey Chris, I'm not sure of the capabilities of your software.
    You can get the desired result by building the structure's
    gable roof and then manually adding the porch roof if you
    have that feature.

    Here is a You Tube video tutorial about how to go about solving your problem, I did it in Essentials specifically so I was confined just to auto-roof tool settings, Rich Windsor is quite correct in that Home Designer Pro's manual tools give you additional choices on how to arrive at a result but never the less the data shown here is useful to all viewers-users of Home Designer Software titles.
