    Trying build cupola correctly

I'm trying to build cupola on barn. I'm following the directions in the cupola tutorial to the t and bad results. The cupola keeps generating inside the building, won't auto build roof (maybe because it's inside). After I select build new floor and select build new blank floor, dialog box pops up for 2nd floor not sure if I have to change settings in structure tab. Then close box and build walls, roof doesn't build and when view no cupola on top, it just shows inside. Here are some pics. Also I tried to get a screenshot of the room spec box for the cupola but can't, is that possilbe. Architectural 2012. Click image for larger version.

I haven't looked at the tutorial but I opened my copy of Architectural.

    Created a first floor box.

    Turned off "Auto Build Roofs"

    Created a blank second floor.

Then drew my cupola box, setting its ceiling height, using "Reference Floors" tool to draw it relative to the first floor.

Then rebuilt roofs and I got a cupola the first time.

You might be adding or subtracting a step, just do those listed actions above and you should get it done.
