Joist angles in framing view HD Pro 10

Why would the program place joists on a 45 degree angle such as this picture shows ?

The software follows settings an default settings. In terms of framing it follows "Joist Direction" directive objects along with the manual "Bearing Line Tool". I would suspect that you probably have misunderstood about the Joist Direction tool and applied it in such a way to bring about the result in your image, or you failed to use the tools correctly, thus misleading the software to an unwanted result. Learn the framing tool, study them in the Reference Manual, practice using them in simple practice plans until you get desired results, then apply that knowledge to your current plan.
