full height wall steps down to railing

    Hi,

Can BH&G Home design put a hole in a wall?

I have a wall that is full height for 10 feet. It then drops down to 5 feet high for about 8 feet and then ends in the middle of the room. (I always thought that was called a pony wall but in the program docs it seems that a pony wall has two different types of walls on the top and bottom)

This wall is in the kitchen and the short section acts as a pass through.

I hope I've described this right.

    Thanks

    Bob

I think you can do what you want with a solid railing or by creating a doorway in the wall. If you remove the casing from a doorway, and raise the bottom up off the ground, you can create any sized opening you want in a wall.

    Thanks Kilgore,

Sounds good - I'll try it tonight when I get home.

For some reason your pseudonym sounds familiar. Is there a story behind Kilgore Trout? Is it from some book I read in High School?
