    Different roof pitches

Maybe this is in the manual, but I can't find it. Whenever I add a shed roofed porch to my house, it always has the same pitch as the house roof. I want to have an 8/12 gable roof on the house and a 4/12 shed roof on the front and back porches. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Click on the porch railing walls=roof tab=you can change the pitch there. That will over ride the default setting..

You manipulate the wall properties not the roof properties directly.

Thanks, but when I changed the roof pitch on the porch, it also changes the house roof to the same pitch. I have auto build off.

You could make the porch roof a dormer with a shed style roof and set it separately.

Hmmm, when I deleted my porch roof, my house roof was deleted also. I had the porch only selected. Before that I just deselected roof on the deck (room) specification window and that did not remove the porch roof. What am I doing wrong here?

If I delete the roof and than try to build just a dormer on top of the deck, it will not allow me to put a dormer where there is no roof plane. (According to the error messege.) Is a roof plane just a roof?

I am trying to get a file smaller than 100k. Any suggestions as to how to do that?

I cannot get a file smaller enough to attach. But I can tell you it is simply a 40' x 20' box with a 10' x 40' porch on the first floor.
