Dormers and A-Frame Roof help
Hi All,
I am new to home designer - so far its been great fun and the tutorials have worked great. But, I cannot figure out how to do roof lines in A frame type designs.
I sample of what I would like to make the roof look like is below

or

Thanks.

Hi mj,
Don't know if you've been there yet but the Help Database is a good place for info. For example here's an article on a-frames that might help:

It would also help us if we knew your program version. That way, members here with your version can give you more specific advice.Doug S.

Hi,
Thanks for link - didn't find that.
I have version 8.
I already have the first and second floors setup. Do I have to start over using the instructions in the link or can I modify what I have started?

Doug, just saw you are in Winnipeg - my home town (in Minneapolis now). Building a cabin in the Minaki area.

Welcome to the forum, ex-winter-peger...
As to your earlier question, if you can post some images of what you have so far, it would make it easier for someone to advise. Maybe you've already seen this thread:

Play around with different ceiling heights on the 2nd Floor, different roof pitch on the 1st and 2nd floor and you'd get something like this.Greiner

I think that you could take it from then on to add the details (windows, doors, rooms in the 2nd floor etc).

Fig 2: 2nd floor plan (after moving the walls)

Hope it will helpGreiner
