    Interior "Partial Walls"

    Hi,

For lack of a better term, I will ask about creating interior "partial walls." By that, I mean a wall that does not reach the ceiling of a room. Really, a partition of sorts. For example, I am designing a doorless shower that is bounded on one side by a curved wall section that reaches to about two feet from the ceiling.

And, somewhat related, I also would like to know how to insert a "window-like" opening in an interior wall. For example, an opening in the wall between a kitchen and the dining room in an open floor plan.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Julie,

You can use the railing tool (either curved or straight) to make an adjustable height wall; just set railing type to be solid, apply your desired material, and adjust the height on the Newels tab of the railing specification. Also, depending on your software title and capability, you might be able to select the wall while in a 3D camera view (make sure to select the wall and not the room) and then grab and drag one of the edit handles on the wall polyline. http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/...?faqNumber=317

As for creating a pass through ... have you seen the following tutorial? http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/...p?faqNumber=44
If that doesn't help, or is not quite what you're looking for, perhaps you can give us a better description of your plan (or better yet, an image edited to show what you want to achieve).

    Hope this helps.
