Adding floor below 1st floor

I'm using Home Designer Suite 6.0. I did the first floor of my house (ground floor from the street). I went to add a floor below (basement) but it appears you can only add a floor above. Is this true?

If I started a new plan drawing the basement, my first floor would become a 2nd story, which is even worse)

More detail: My "basement" is actually a lower floor that opens full height out the back. If I could at least add a true basement, I can do interior layout (if not windows?). If I could add a basement and add windows in the basement, that would be the best.

You can add a walkout basement under your first floor. You will need to build a foundation and set your wall height to 8'.
