Further information
I'm using Landscape and Deck designer because I'm concentrating on my garden right now, but I suppose that this question may apply to a number of the packages available. The help you get with my application is a little lacklustre to say the least, and while the tutorials are great, they only help so much. Also, while people are great at answering questions here, I may start asking too many. Also, I'm not sure if many people have L&DD as most people seem to have the other packages.
Other than the database at homes and gardens is there a site with information or links to other sites that provide hints and tips or tutorials etc?

Hi, thanks for the reply, I was beginning to realise this. I suppose I just didn't think I needed the full blown design software for my task, which as I say is closer to gardening than house design. I'll let you guys get on with it and I'll take up your suggestion of looking at the Chieftalk forum for a while.
Pleased to have met you.
Regards
Jason

I wouldn't worry about this.
