    POV raytrace

I've been reading over on Chieftalk about a raytrace program called POV-Ray. It appears that this program is freely distributable, you don't have to buy it. Do any of you know how complicated this is to use and whether it would work with HD Pro files?

From what I can tell from a quick reading of some of the basic information about the program on their website, you have to enter all the scene parameters into the program via a special text file. Is this file something HD Pro can create, or would I have to code it all by hand?

Thanks for whatever info you can share about this.

Kathleen, have you also posted this question on Chieftalk?

No, because I wasn't sure they'd know anything about HD Pro over there (and I also didn't want to look ignorant in front of people I don't know yet! ).

I know the feeling! Whenever I visit that site I feel like Thumbelina at the Round Table. Almost everything goes over my head. But you never know - some of them might have been Pro before they went Chief!

The more I read, the more I think this is not something that can be done with HD Pro. I don't think Pro can create the type of export file I would need to use with the Pov-ray software.
