Pillar placement
Can anyone advise me how to place a round pillar half way along under a steel beam?
Thanks

Which program are you using? Have you got "Snap" on, if so could that be the problem? How have you generated the beam?

pillar placement II
Thanks, I'm using home designer suite 6.0. I created the beam by putting 2 breaks in a wall then opening the middle section and ticking the "beam" option. I'm not sure, but I think snap is turned off.

Should you be using Soffits?
Following this route in Suite 6, I have no problem placing the pillar but the beam is invisible. (in Pro 7 the only option is "invisible beam") I think you have to use soffits (found under cabinets) to display a beem. The attached pic. is using one of these. I havent used them before but it seems to work.
