I have Home Designer 6.0 and bought it for my laptop (XP). I have recently bought a new computer (Vista) and gotten rid of my laptop. When I go to make it 3-D it covers the whole screen the menu, options, exit, top, and bottom. It never did this with my old computer and am wondering if it has something to do with Vista, and if there is anything i can do to fix it.

Probably something to do with Vista. There have been several other threads on things that can help, including changing to Classic View in your control panel, turning off Desktop Composition, and most importantly, updating your video card drivers. Do a search of the forum on Vista for more ideas.
