I would like to take a picture of a single item with my digital camera and transfer the item to the library list. Is that possible?

Actually, you can add items- just not in 3-D, as was mentioned. You can add them as textures, or as 2-D files like the plants in the library.

You can create your own "image" or "Plant image" from a digital photo and this will display in camera views.
