Version Upgrade help with creating dormers?

I have version Home Suite Version 6 and I have NOT had good luck creating dormers on a one story house with a wrap around covered porch.

My question: will upgrading to version 7 make this alot easier? If I want to make dormers on a single story house with a covered porch, would the Suite or Deluxe version be good for me? The dormers would either be shining into the attic or through a cathedral ceiling...depending if the wife wants a cathedral ceiling or not.
