    yeap thanks Allen I can see how this would work..we think we want to put a gable across the middle section and hip roofs on the 'leg' sections of the H but I think your idea would still work.......

    Yes, actually the way Allen did it is exactly the way I did it, then just deleted the unneeded walls.

    From your plan, it looks like you haven't set the end walls (top and bottom ends of the H arms) as gable walls. All four of those walls, plus the two ends of the crossbar, need to be set as full gable walls.

    Oh wait, I just re-read the part about wanting hip roofs on the ends. In that case, you need to make sure that Full Gable Wall is UN-checked for those 4 walls.

    Un-checked ==> not checked. Turned off. Not a selected option.
