Another kitchen

Here's another kitchen I've been working on.

This is the kitchen of some friends who had a major kitchen remodel done. It's really beautiful -- my images don't even do it justice. Imagine this lovely kitchen all covered in pink and mauve formica -- that's the "Before" image I'm going to do next!!

Their house was originally built by an architect for himself, and it's full of strange angles and roof planes. I can't even begin to capture it without a blueprint or plan to work from.

Unless you are planning on chopping everyone's head off like Henry the 8th, you had better raise that fan up to at least 86 inches.

I just took a second look at the pics; couple of things: it looks like the fan is set off the floor at the same height as the countertop light fixtures and if you angle your stool under the workstation just a little, itty bit you may get full view of the three legged stool (it looks like two until you get to floor level, then you see just a smidgen of the third leg).

From pics, is the skylight octagon shaped? It may just be the angle of pic.

I took your advice and raised the fan up a bit (see http://hometalk.homedesignersoftware...&d=1191509326), but I looked at my photo of their kitchen and it's definitely lower than a normal fan (maybe because it's over a table?).

That 3-legged stool is a big pain! (and actually the stool my friends have looks just like this but has 4 legs, not 3). You have to keep turning the stool around depending on the camera angle, or vice versa. :mad: When I do the final renderings for them, I'll make sure it looks like it has enough legs.

P.S. The skylight is composed of two regular rectangular ones paired with an odd-shaped one which follows the roof line.

Like I said, their house is filled with strange angles. It's a beautiful house with gorgeous views, on a high hilltop. The views out these windows - although you can't see much of them in these images - are their actual views!

I'd love to get my hands on their blueprints and model the whole house. That would be a challenge even for most Chiefers, I have a feeling.
