    Question Tile next to carpet

    Hi guys, a quick question...

I have a foyer that I want to tile so that the tile continues slightly into the living room and then takes a 90 degree turn and joins a hallway (essentially tiling the high traffic area).

The problem is this puts tile next to carpet with no "room" to do materials....

is a really thin soffitt my only hope with this? because the corner has a 45 degree camfer, and I know soffitts don't do triangles well.

Is the CAD function usable in this scenario?

    Thanks for your help...

    Will

You can use a thin soffit on top of the floor to make a tile area.

You can also divide your room into areas using "invisible" walls. This will let you create different room areas that can have different floor materials. When using rooms, it is important that you don't create "island" rooms that don't connect to any other walls. In these cases, you can use another invisible wall to connect them up.
