Wrap around Porch
Hello, I have a basic Retangle house 42' x 30' with a Gable Roof 7/12 pitch. I want build a porch on the front and around one side. I can get the front porch to work all right but the roof around the side keeps wanting to go up to main ridge and I need it to go into Gable wall. Can someone please help..........Thanks Wayne

Wayne-what software are you using?

I'm new at this but I tried this in HD Pro7. I see what you are saying. It doesn't seem to me like its possible. The "ridge" line on a shed type roof on the porch would be higher than the ceiling height of the house, therefore the porch roof ridge intersects and passes through the roof overhang of the house. I tried making the interior room height 180" and the porch ceiling height 96" and I can get something that may be close to what you want.
Good luck, maybe the pro's on here can help you, I will also be waiting to see what they say.

Hi Wayne
Can you post your floor plan?
Is this just 1 story?
How wide is the porch and the pitch of it?
It may not be posible..I remember a thread like this before and there was trouble on the gable side..
But will see.Allen Colburn Jr.

Hi Wayne
I did try it a few ways..Not sure that is possible with auto roofs..
Maybe someone else can get it..
Maureen on Chief Talk had a similar design that had to be manually built..Allen Colburn Jr.
