Panel Door for Refrigerator

Can anyone advise me on how to create a panel facade for a refrigerator to match my cabinet scheme. Someone suggested I use a soffit, but I can't imagine that being the right answer. Anyone, anyone?

Place a full height cabinet.
Set the depth to be 1".
Resize the cabinet to be how big you want the door to be.
Slap this baby on front of your refer.
