How do I copy floorplan so I can post it on forums?
I want to post it on home sites so people can critic it. I have the 7.0 version.

If you are a Vista user, using the Snipping Tool to capture a screen shot is far easier than the old Print Screen method as described in the How To Attach Pictures to HomeTalk Posts thread.
If you're using Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise or Windows Vista Ultimate, you can use Snipping Tool with either a mouse or tablet pen to capture a screen shot, or snip, of any object on your computer. There are several capture options:
Free-form Snip: draw an irregular line, such as a circle or a triangle, around an object.
Rectangular Snip: draw a precise line by dragging the cursor around an object to form a rectangle.
Window Snip: select a window, such as a browser window or dialog box, that you want to capture.
Full-screen Snip: capture the entire screen when you select this type of snip.
After you capture a snip, it's automatically copied to the mark-up window, where you can highlight, annotate, save or share the snip.
To find Windows Vista Snipping Tool, just type "Snipping Tool" in the Search box on the Start menu. You can also find it by using the Start Menu / All Programs / Accessories / Snipping Tool. And if you use it often, you can create a shortcut on your Quick Launch bar to give you instant access to the Snipping Tool.
If you want easier ways to capture portions of plans, renders, etc. I would recommend the following screen capture programs.
IrfanView - http://www.irfanview.com/
SnagIt - http://www.techsmith.com/screen-capt...ahoonssStmhome
MWSnap - http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/mwsnap.html
SnapFiles - http://www.snapfiles.com/get/easycapture.html
If you want to find other “free” sources go to downloads.com they have several free capture programs. http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0....pture&tag=srch
If you are not using Vista refer to this thread http://hometalk.homedesignersoftware...read.php?t=376Last edited by daydreamer; 12-17-2007 at 06:25 AM.

Curt,
You can't post .plan files on this site.
You can post .bmp, .doc, .gif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .pdf, .png, .psd, .txt and a .zip
The size of the files can't be over 100KB except for the .jpg and the .jpeg which can be 200KB.

msh2000,
You may want to take a look at screen capture software that will aid you in posting pictures on the forum.

If you are using Vista look for information on the Snipping tool.

Pro comes with a screen capture converter for jpg and other formats. No other software required and it lives right in your software while you are running it.
file>export>jpg
In order to get a smaller jpg file make your screen window smaller. This technique can save anything you can see in the software. No trimming, sizing or borders to cut.
