    UnHappy Can't play training videos!

When I try to play certain training videos, my system gives me the following error, "Camplay has caused an error in AVIFILE.DLL. Camplay will now close." Even when I restart the whole system, it still fails. Could this be a problem with my training video CD? Not all of the videos fail. Some work perfectly.

AVIFILE.DLL is located in C:\WINDOWS\system on my machine. My version is dated 8/18/2001. I suspect it is part of the Windows Media Player.

One possibility is an out of date AVIFILE.DLL. You could look at the file on your machine and note the date. If it is older than 8/18/2001, you might try updating your Windows Media Player.

No guaranty this will do the trick, but it might be worth a try.

    Good luck.

This is a common issue with Windows 98 machines. We have an article on this in the database.
