    Stone walls

    1. I am trying to renovate and draw an addition onto an existing residence. The existing house has 18" thick stone walls.... can the wall thickness, etc. be modified? (BH&G Home Designer suite version 7 software).

    2. Trying to save a design layout into My Documents or somehow into my computer (and to be able to edit it later)... "Save As" is not being acknowledged by my computer...I have BH&G Home Designer Suite version 7 software. I can save as a PDF but not able to edit later.
    Thanks,
    JAB

    Hey JA,

Did you click on Library on the toolbar and then click Library Search.

Enter Stone, Masonry etc. You need to find a material. Then you can attach it to a wall or make a wall from a soffit and change the material.

    Lot's of options.

    Good luck!

This is a pattern I painted on using Pro. I would be sure almost all products have this under "~cultured stone" at the bottom of the materials.

BTW: I have never heard of Windows 2003. Did you mean XP or 2000?

People need to know the product you have as well as the revision, The product will be Suite, Pro, X1,Lanscape & Deck Designer...etc..

    JAB,

Did you try just clicking the 'save' button instead of the 'save as'? When I was using that version and clicked 'save' for my first drawing a file called 'Better Homes' was automatically created in the 'my documents' file. See if that works.

Allen taught me early on, if you're saving a plan, in save as if it looks like this: *.pln you need to remove the *. I assume you know that and have done it.

In regards to your question of how to make the walls "Thick", if you double click on the wall and select the Wall Types Tab. One of the options should be Default Wood Frame 16"

You can resize these walls Thickness on the general tab.
