UnHappy Can't open saved files (Plan Files) on I.D. 7.08

I can not open saved files-I keep getting a window that says unexpected parameter 'and' then it goes to another window that says Usage:Interior Designer 7.0[/register_file_extensions][/reg][file]/register_file_extensions/reg.

I uninstalled, shutoff my McCaffe AV,reinstalled same and nothing has changed.
I use XP on a Dell XPS400 with ample storage available.

    Any ideas?
    Thank you,

    Aerowoot

Did you look at the initial link that Daydreamer provided on this same error? If you read through that thread, you will see that the file association was broken between your .plan files and your software by a recent Microsoft XP update. You can still access your file by opening your Home Designer software first, and then use the File menu to choose to Browse to and open your plans.

I'll go ahead and post the links again.

I receive an "Unexpected Parameter 'and'" error when I double click on my plans.

Microsoft posted a "fix" at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943460/en-us but I can't verify whether or not it works because I haven't tried it.
