At this time, the Home Designer programs are only supported on Windows.

Look out this section of the website for the full System Requirements.

The Mac requirements (which do require that you partition your hard drive using Boot Camp and to install Windows on to it) can be located on the website at: http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/...uirements.html

    Mac Requirements
    • Intel Mac
    • Leopard OS or newer with Windows 7 / Vista / XP running on Boot Camp
    • 256 MB of dedicated video memory, supporting OpenGL 2.1 or higher
    • System Memory: 2 GB
    • Processor: 2 GHZ
    • DVD Drive

It does need to be Boot Camp. There's no support for running in emulation or virtual machine environments (Parallels and VMWare Fusion seem to be the most common ones people try and are disappointed with).

I understand all the system requirements to run on a Mac... is there anyone out
there that is successfully using, designing and enjoying the experience? I will have to
pay the additional coin to purchase Windows 7 and the arduous task of installing
it all properly. I'd love you response. Thank you.

I have had two Macs and successfully partitioned the hard drive, using Boot Camp, installed Windows (XP on the old one, Windows 7 64-bit on the new), and booted up in to the Windows side to use this and other software programs.

It isn't nearly as "arduous" as you might think. Just follow the Boot Camp Installation & Setup Guide on Apple's website.

The only thing I had to change, both times, was that the Function keys don't work like you'd expect on the Windows side initially. This has nothing to do with Home Designer, other than I use the F6 (Fill Window) hotkey so without these working, it was annoying.

In the Boot Camp Control Panel, on the Keyboard tab, there is a checkbox to allow this to work correctly.
