If you want a real simple down and dirty way to measure it.

Make a soffit the width of the stairs and make it 6'8" in height.

From the camera view move it onto the stair that you want to measure.

I can not thank you enough for this suggestion!

I will be using the wounderful soffit for all kinds of 3d visual measuring.

I would have rendered it into a jpg and added measurements from the CAD dept.

Sorry. The CAD button has dimensions as a subtool button. These dimensions can be placed on the 3D rendering under the print menu (I think...been a while)

When I Vector Full Camera or Render Full Camera, all the CAD buttons are dim.

You can export it as a DFX current view, then import it back to dimension it..

Use vector>backclipped view (text menu dropdown)

This will get you a nice slice of the house that will get you right into where you want to go.

    Now
Cad>cad mode on>dimension (look for the ruler button)

    Hi Mike,

The soffit as I said was quick and dirty method.

Ohhhh...Ohhhh (don't have to pee) Just thought of a cool idea for future versions. Cursor with dimension marks on the lines.
